I’ve decided to start a new blog named Utelias mieli (its Finnish and means Curious mind). I’ve also changed to Finnish as my primary blogging language and will focus writing about communities. I might sometimes add something in English there too, but don’t put too much hope on that. So for the time being I say farewell to all my international readers. Maybe we meet one day again…

For some reason I managed to lose my blogroll completely when I was trying to update it from my list in Google Reader. I’ll try to get it back some time soon. Sorry.

Earlier I wrote how I’d like to see an easy and fast way of creating video emails. Thanks to Jack I found GabMail which is just what I was looking for. I’ve tested it couple of times so far and it seems to work fine. I’m hooked!

My blog had today its 1000th visitor! I don’t know exactly how this is calculated but at least it tells me there’s a steady flow of visitors to my blog as it’s been increasing all the time, though somewhat slowly. Thanks to all of you who’ve been here.

In addition there is a bigger number of people reading the blog with feed aggregators. I don’t have any specifics about that but roughly it seems that the number is threefold compared to real visitors. Thanks to you too. I hope you all have got something to take with you and want to come back again.

I’m testing FeedBurner service to track the traffic on this blog. Please, update your reader with the new feed using the Subscribe in a reader link on the left column. Thanks for your cooperation.

It’s already two weeks since my last post on this blog. The idle time is mainly due to very busy weeks at work when I’ve been in the process of changing responsibilities. The fact that an opportunity to change was offered lead me to thoroughly think about the options available. But now that’s done and I’m back focused (will I really ever be?) and energised.

The break was also perfect for reviewing my a month plus long expedition to blogging. In that time I’ve created two blogs, killed one of them and written altogether roughly two dozens of posts. Generally, I must say, I’ve been positively surprised by the number of contacts I’ve got due to blogging even though there isn’t hundreds of daily visitors to my blog. It’s been very interesting to write to and to have a dialogue with brilliant people I wouldn’t have at all met otherwise. Only very few of the contacts I’ve made have remained totally without any reply. And via these contacts I’ve been taken to other blogs that have turned out to be very stimulating offering me more leads on things to write about.

In addition to all the inspiring dialogue and increasing my network the blogging has created some real opportunities for me too. I’ve got an invitation to talk to postgraduates (which I’ve accepted), I’ve been offered a very interesting position in a start-up (this I had to turn down, unfortunately, due to lack of time), I’ve been asked to participate in the strategy preparation work for our corporation (ongoing and very interesting), I’ve been invited to talk about some of my ideas to my colleagues in two different occasions (I’ve gladly accepted these and hope my ideas will help others to succeed) and, most importantly, I’ve been offered a new position within our corporation (which I’ve also accepted). And all this in less than two months.

My aim is by no means not to brag about my achievements but just to give a flavour of the potential outcomes or side effects of blogging for all of you thinking about starting it. In addition to being a useful and fun act in itself it might also lead to some unexpected results too. If you ask my opinion, I’ll definitely say: “Go for it!”

But fun :) I’m especially glad to see Supergirl that high on scores LOL

I just today moved here my old posts, all three of them :) , from TypePad. I’ll kill that old blog in two weeks time and hope all the readers, if there are any, have by that time updated their links and feeds. There is a short remark of the transfer at TypePad blog with a link to this new one.

There are still many things for me to do to customise this new blog but I’ll do it along the way. Most of the effort I’ll put to blogging more often. I’ve decided to extend the scope of my blogs to more than just providing ideas. I’ll still try to throw in as many ideas as possible but in addition I’d like to cover also my favourite topics of creativity and innovations, especially in the corporate context. I’m reading quite a bit on these topics and there are many things I’d like to share with you all. Perhaps I could even engage myself into wider discussions, something that’s often difficult to accomplish with just the limited number of friends at home or at work. It remains to be seen if the blogosphere will be of any help here…
